For a start, has anyone ever heard of the brand Archos?
If not, here’s a quick set-up:
Here’s a link that will really tell you what they are about: http://www.archos.com/home.html?country=gb&lang=en
So, my dilema;
Other than it was pay day five days ago and I yet again have no money (damn degus)
I’m one of those shallow magpies that if you wave shiney (and usually expensive) teachnology at me, I will buy it. Unless it’s the iPad. Then I just laughed.
Archos are due to bring out a new internet tablet called the Archos 70 around 10th November 2010. The Archos 70 is a seven inch screen, lightweight, media player that has now turned into an internet tablet. It streams in HD, you can use it to watch HD things on your TV with it via a cable, It can have up to 250GB of memory, webcam, and the whole computer shebang. For the tech-savvy, here’s the specs; http://www.archos.com/products/ta/archos_70it/specs.html?country=gb&lang=en.
For those who are not tech-savvy, there’s a picture at the bottom… somewhere.
Anyway, it’s all pretty cheap £299.99 which is cheaper than any other - and has a bigger harddrive, more lightweight, and the list goes on.
So… why haven’t I preordered it yet?
Aside the fact I have no money, I’m a little worried about the AppStore. They have FINALLY allowed the tablet to use the Andriod App store - as in previous models it wasn’t supported as the Andriod App Store was for PHONES - although some reviews are saying it is still a big stingey on the content.
Also, I wonder whether I will actaully use it? I am fed up with my Blackberry’s web-sufring as the screen is so damn tiny and nothing is really supported very well as it is just a smartphone. The web connectivity is okay, and in theory I would use my phone to connect the Archos 70 to the network anywhere (espeically as T-Mobile and Orange have now integrated their signal) which is a big bonus. The big hard drive means I could store movies and music on there, but I wonder whether I would ever take it out of the house? Maybe on a long train journey as a table matt…
Anyway, if anyone has any comments or knows about the Archos 70/can comment on the Archos 5 send a message… or something.
Just for the record; Apple Blows.

Perty!
